Cover Options
- Main Cover
- Bernard Chang Card Stock Variant
- Kyle Hotz Card Stock Variant
- Dustin Nguyen Midnight Card Stock Variant
Knight Terrors has a had a history of producing unique cover options and continues to have a wide array of artistic and horrific covers with Knight Terrors Detective Comics #1. Starting with the Main Cover option where we see the immortal creatures who grant wishes to various characters throughout and also a grotesque form of Batman. If you look closer your can see the clock in the background which garnishes symbolism throughout the story making this cover option have a 360 degree view. Which is why the main cover is my take home cover for this issue.
On to the Cover B where we see Bernard Chang grace us with a Card Stock Variant. This cover option tends to focus more on the Batman creature that gets created within the story because of the granted wish of power. The single eye, with a mouth full of teeth is definitely a look, but not really one I care to see when I display comic book art on my wall.
In the Cover C option Kyle Hotz shows us a whole new abomination creation on this Card Stock Variant. This variant is similar to the Cover B in that it features this world’s new “Batman” that Jim Gordon must face alone. I tend to lean slightly more towards this cover than it’s Cover B counterpart, due to the add art of the lightning and bats in the background, this gives more of a creation of a monster vibe to me, which I think is great!
Lastly, we have the Dustin Nguyen Midnight Card Stock Variant, which if you followed Knight Terrors at all know that Dustin Nguyen came out with a Midnight Variant for each of the 1st issues. This one is fantastic as we see a bloody fist in front of the iconic Bat-Signal and the skyline of Gotham in the background. This cover was a close second for me as my take home cover, but I decided to stick with a lot of the Main Covers throughout the event. If you are a fan of the Black, White and Red series for DC or Marvel, the Midnight Card Stock options might be the ones for you.
